sunday 18 june 2017.. a son discovered his two parents stabbed to death inside a home on chicago's north austin neighborhood, police said.. he found his 67-year-old father and 69-year-old mother fatally stabbed in the 1400-block of north leclaire avenue and contacted police at about 1 a.m., police said.

The son will be the primary suspect because most people are killed by someone they know, and the son may have thought he had something to gain following their demise, like their estate.

If the son is exonerated the police will look at the evidence to see where that takes them.

Do you think the general public cares about former Jehovah's witnesses?

i was wondering if you guys think if the general public cares about our stories or if they even care what the watchtower does to people??

Here's the way it works:

The events of MY life are significant to ME because I only exist on MY TIME-LINE - no one else's.

It is thus for EVERY OTHER INDIVIDUAL on earth, although some of them will try to convince you that THEY are an exception to this reality.

Now, most of us here on this board share a common experience (but not an identical experience) - we were, for some portion of our lives, Jehovah's Witnesses.

These experiences are important to us because there are no other experiences that can drop into the time-slices occupied by our JW experiences.

The problem for us lies in the fact that the majority of the people we share this planet with did NOT have any JW experiences - they had their OWN experiences.

JW-ism, as a cult, is not dastardly enough to merit much attention from anyone. JW leadership is stupid and careless and clumsy and more than a bit effete and feminine and faggy*, but they aren't as bad as some of the other cults the world has known, in my opinion. That doesn't mean that GREAT EVIL has not occurred within JW congregation - I know that it has. But as XJWs we just don't have the numbers to garner great attention.

So, NO the general public does not care about former JWs. Them's the facts.

*make me laugh - tell me they aren't!

Did You Know You Can Have Seizures While You Sleep and Not Know It?

i have to take some time off even from some of my favorite activities for a while...that means here...until i can adjust to a new medical therapy.. i just learned today that i have nocturnal epilepsy and have been having seizures almost every night for several decades!

wow!

just started medication that will mess me up when it comes to processing my thinking and typing for a while, so until that straightens out i will just have to read for now.. but look it up.

I had a seizure during my sleep 9 years ago as a result of a meningioma (a tumor in the lining of the brain) one spot in the meninges over my right frontal cortex began thickening until it was about the size of a chicken's egg. This thickening compressed the underlying brain tissue until it "shorted out" and the seizure commenced.

I was taken to the hospital Emergency Room via ambulance at about 3 AM and subjected to a series if "scans" to locate the source of the problem. Once the problem was discovered, surgery was scheduled for the following day. My consciousness faded in and out during this time. Surgery was a success! the skin of my scalp was peeled down over my face, a hole was drilled in my skull and the offending mass of meninges was removed. Then the disc of bone that had been drilled in my head was re-installed, my scalp was pulled back into place, and I had twenty-some-odd staples closing the incision. I looked like a Cenobite from the HELLRAISER movies. My neurosurgeon gives a BAD haircut!

I was prescribed Dilantin, which didn't work for me (for which I am glad) and I had a second seizure exactly one month after the first. Back to the hospital... they figured out that I metabolize Dilantin VERY fast, so they put me Keppra (levetiracetam). I have had no seizures since.

If you are awake and you have a seizure, it is like someone turns your consciousness OFF like a lamp. There is virtually instant transition, which is why seizures can be deadly. If you are walking down the sidewalk you fall like a bundle of rags and can easily suffer "secondary head trauma" and die. If you're driving the situation is more dire.

I think that during my entire "career" as a pioneer I conducted a grand total of TWO Home Bible* Studies. One was with a sweet little old lady who was lonely and just wanted some attention from a handsome young man. She got me instead.

The other Home Bible Study was with the two pre-teen daughters of a couple in our territory who had been disfellowshipped for an abortion she had after her then-youngest daughter was born. They already had three kids and didn't want more.

I had been a regular guest in their home for at least a year when Mom told me she needed to tell me a secret. I said "OK," and she told me that in the years since the couple had been disfellowshipped, they had other additional abortions. I wrestled with this for a few days, then went to the Congregation Overseer and told him what she told me.

I think they were disfellowshipped again. I was not asked to appear at any judicial hearings. Not too long after that I left NYC and began working on my own exit from the Watchtower cult.

There are people on this board who think I'm a schmuck.

I am, and I'll tell on you too. Count on it.

None of my "studies" ever got to the point of baptism.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot -- the sex was FANTASTIC!

*In the WTB&TS, the word "Bible" means "Watchtower publications explaining the Bible, but NEVER just the Bible itself."
